As part of our Citizenship curriculum; Rules, responsibilities and Law, we had the opportunity to take our aspiring politicians to visit the Houses of Parliament. Students from KS1 and Year 7 were given a tour of the House of Lords and Commons, a brief history and a workshop thereafter. The year 7 took part in an election and voting workshop where they learnt how to make manifestos. We even had a Prime Minister from amongst the group.
Year 1, 2 and 3 took part in a creative workshop on Parliament, the House of Lords, Commons and Monarchy. They enjoyed the workshop and learnt a lot from it. We will take the learning to the classroom by making our own class rules and laws along with holding a mini PMQ session. Watch this space!
