Year 5 visit to the Hackney Museum & St Augustine Tower
The visit began with a Suitcase Stories workshop at the museum. Pupils explored the real stories of people who have moved to Hackney from the Anglo-Saxons to the present day such as Conrad Loddiges, the famous botanist from the Netherlands.
Pupils then walked back in time to St Augustine’s Tower where they were led around the Tower by the Tower guides. They had the chance to go onto the roof- 135 steps climb, see the Tower’s pendulum and even rang the Tower’s last remaining bell!
